Catherine Theresa Green, 86, passed away on Feb. 18, 2023, at her home in Herman.

She was born Feb. 17, 1937, in Butler, and was the daughter of Phillip (Fred) and Mary Marx.

Catherine was a member of St. Frances of Assisi Parish-St. Mary of the Assumption in Herman for the past 64 years. She was also a longtime member of the Christian Mothers.

She worked at Magnetics and at St. Fidelis development office, and she was a homemaker for her husband, Gerard (Crock) Green, and their seven children.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, upholstery work and canning fruits and vegetables. She was an exceptional baker and was known as the “raspberry lady.” She made an average of 108 pies every year for the church’s fish fry. Catherine was a very devoted Catholic with a great sense of humor and knew how to turn a pun!

Catherine is survived by her brother, Arthur; her son, John and his wife, Lynn; and her granddaughters, Kelli and Catherine and her husband, Timothy Stone.

She also is survived by her daughter, June and her husband, Rick Helch, and her granddaughter, Melissa and grandson, Eric Lewetag; her stepdaughter, Jennifer Moody-Helch and her husband, Shaun; her stepsons, Richard II Helch and his wife, Charichele, and Daniel Helch and his wife, Elysha; and her grandchildren, Dylan, Callie, Giavanna and Adlynn.

She also is survived by her daughter, Judy and her husband, Mark Atkinson; her grandson, Christopher and his wife, Sis Hill; her great-grandsons, Landon, Cody and Mason; and her grandson, Joey.

She also is survived by her daughter, Shirley and Robert; her granddaughter, Jamie and Chris De Falco; her granddaughter, Katie and her husband, Brandon Lias; her great-granddaughter, Emma Mae; her grandson, Jonathon and his wife, Emily; her great-granddaughter, Norah; her great-grandson, Davis; and her granddaughter, Elizabeth.

She also is survived by her daughter, Lorie and her husband, Larry Wizorek; her granddaughters, Nicole, Stephanie Melanie and her husband, Greg Cummings; her great-grandson, Joseph; and her granddaughter, Julie.

She also is survived by her son, Gerard Green; her granddaughter, Caite; and her great-grandson, Noah.

She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary Marx; her sisters, Ethel, Petty, Mary, Jeannie, Ruth and Irene; her brother, Fred; her husband, Gerard Green; her daughter, Dianne; and her great-grandsons, Stephen Green and Leo Cummings.

GREEN — Friends of Catherine Theresa Green, who died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. The Rev. Ward Stakem will officiate.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
