Butler’s Lindsay Law Firm to represent Sandusky on appeal

Lindsay Law Firm in Butler will represent former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky in his appeal for a new trial after new evidence was discovered, according to a news release from the firm.

According to the release, the new trial would involve a transcript in which a witness changes their testimony. The evidence is considered relevant, the release said, because it demonstrates techniques used to influence testimony and accuse Sandusky after instances of assaults were initially denied.

In 2011, Sandusky was accused of sexually assaulting young boys through his non-profit charity organization. In 2012, he was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison. Victims said Sandusky subjected them to abuse ranging from grooming to violent attacks.

Sandusky’s arrest prompted the firing of longtime head football coach Joe Paterno, and the university has paid millions to people who said Sandusky abused them.
