William Fennell

William E. Fennell, 83, of Karns City, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Chicora on April 10, 1939, he was the son of Raymond and Annabelle (Meals) Fennell.

On Dec. 15, 1962, he married the love of his life, Alice J. Olcus. Together they enjoyed 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Bill attended Chicora High School and graduated with his GED.

He served with the Army National Guard and as an Army reservist. He was a member of the 28th Infantry Division Association.

He was employed by Penreco in Karns City for 42 years, and retired as a grade five laboratory technician.

Bill was a member of St. Paul’s Community Church, where he had served as a deacon for several years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making and repairing toys for his grandchildren, and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving is his wife, Alice Fennell of Karns City; three daughters, Christina and her husband, Philip Double, of Sugarcreek Township, Jennifer and her husband, Kevin Belles, of Butler, and Roxanne and her husband, Gary Harp, of Meadville; one son, William J. Fennell and his wife, Kimberly, of Karns City; eight grandchildren, Andrew (Whitney) Double of Erie, Timothy (Brittany) Double of Wichita, Kan., Jacob Belles of East Butler, Mitchell Belles of Flagstaff, Ariz., Jonathan (Ashley) Fennell of Bloomington, Ind., Jasmine (fiancé Sawyer Reed) Fennell of Karns City, Bradley Harp of Meadville, and Steven Harp of Meadville; and one great-grandson, Gavin Double of Wichita, Kan.

Bill is also survived by one sister, Linda Duespohl and her husband, Don, of Chicora; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Bonnie Olcus of Sugarcreek Township; his sister-in-law, Jean Olcus of Chicora; and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one brother-in-law, Thomas Olcus; and one dearly loved nephew, Ryan Olcus.

FENNELL — Funeral services and burial for William E. Fennell, who died Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, are private and under the direction of BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME in East Brady.

The Fennell family asks that memorials be made in Bill’s name to St. Paul’s Community Church, 2167 State Route 268, Chicora, PA 16025.
