BC3 women’s hoops grab 2 more wins

BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Community College women’s basketball team picked up two more victories recently, defeating Lorain CCC, 93-39, and the Grove City junior varsity, 60-55.

The Pioneers (17-4) host Potomac State at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Aslyn Pry scored 34 points, grabbed 24 rebounds and had 12 assists in the win over Lorain CCC. Hailey Metzger scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Emma Johns had 14 points, Emma Monteleone 13 points and six assists, Brooke Manuel eight points and 12 rebounds.

Pry had 34 points, 21 rebounds, six assists and four blocked shots against Grove City’s JV. Johns had 10 points, Manuel eight points and nine rebounds.

SR’s Brown wins against 11-1 odds

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown drove Cellular to victory against 11-1 odds during harness racing action Wednesday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

The 5-year-old gelding won an $8,500 Conditioned Trot.

Elsewhere on the card, trainer Bob Krenitsky Jr. of Butler enjoyed a win when TSM Tristan T won a $10,900 Conditioned Pace.
