Philadelphia man charged in 3 cases in connection with drug sales

A 23-year-old Philadelphia man was charged in three separate cases involving drug sales on Tuesday, Feb. 7, after police said he sold fentanyl to undercover officers and was found with over 100 grams of crack cocaine at a Butler residence.

State police filed charges against Imir M. Whitener in connection with drug sales that occurred on May 31 and June 22, 2022 and a search warrant executed on Monday.

According to the May 31 affidavit, a confidential informant and undercover officer arranged a fentanyl purchase with Whitener at a location in Butler City. The substance exchanged was tested in a lab and confirmed the presence of fentanyl.

Whitener was charged with felony drug sales and two misdemeanor counts of use and possession of drug paraphernalia in this case.

A similar incident occurred June 22, where a fentanyl purchase was planned by undercover officers and subsequently executed, according to documents. The substance given to officers by Whitener was tested and confirmed the presence of fentanyl, cocaine and fluorofentanyl.

In this instance, Whitener was charged with three felony counts of drug sales and four counts of use and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said a search warrant was executed for Whitener’s home on Monday, Feb. 6. During the search, a red bookbag was found in a bedroom closet containing 11 ounces of suspected crack cocaine. An additional 100 grams of suspected crack cocaine was packaged for individual sale and 85 grams of marijuana were found in a grocery bag in the same closet, according to documents.

Police also found $388 in cash in the closet during the search.

Whitener was charged with felony drug sales and two counts of misdemeanor use and possession of drug paraphernalia in this case.

Whitener is being held in Butler County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
