SRU hoops swept at California
CALIFORNIA, Pa. — Lashon Lindsey scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds Monday night, but the Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team dropped an 87-63 decision at California (Pa.).
Lindsey sank four treys in the game. Jomo Goings scored 15 points for The Rock (14-9, 8-9). Khalid Gates added 10 points.
California improved to 11-12 overall, 8-9 in conference play. KJ McClurg scored a team-high 20 points for the Vulcans.
California (Pa.) 74, SRU 68 (women) — Isabellah Middleton struck for a career-high 27 points for The Rock (12-11, 7-10). She had eight rebounds and two steals as well.
Deleah Gibson contributed 34 points, nine rebounds and three steals. She sank six treys.
Butler graduate Jordan Kauffman scored six points, grabbed four rebounds and had three steals for SRU. Allycia Harrs led the Vulcans (15-8, 11-6) with 27 points.
Both Rock teams host Mercyhurst on Wednesday night at Morrow Field House. The women’s game is at 5:30 p.m., the men’s game at 7:30 p.m.
