Chadwell

Jack A. Chadwell Jr., 75, of Rimersburg, formerly of Bruin, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 1, 2023, at Sunnyview in Butler.

Jack was born in Pittsburgh on Sept. 7, 1947. He was the son of the late Jack A. Sr. and Anna Mae Pearl Alice Gruber Chadwell.

He attended school in Karns City and had earned a GED.

Jack was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, and was a longtime rural mail carrier in Parker.

He enjoyed music, hunting and, most especially, the company of his “grandkids.”

Jack served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Elaine B. Slaugenhoupt Chadwell, who passed away on Aug. 10, 2022. They were married in Parker on Oct. 9, 1971.

Jack is survived by a daughter, Jamie Billotte, and her husband, Steven, of Butler; two sons, Jack Chadwell III, and Eric Chadwell and his wife, Dana, all of Rimersburg; a brother, Gordon Chadwell of Butler; as well as a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jack was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Chadwell.

CHADWELL — Friends of Jack A. Chadwell Jr., who died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at HILE FUNERAL HOME OF KARNS CITY, 128 Main St., Karns City.

A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Bear Creek Cemetery in Petrolia.
