Kohan

Jonathan Kohan, 75, of Evans City, passed away on Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, while under the care of Wexford Health Center.

He was born March 10, 1947, in Turtle Creek, Pa. Jonathan was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in the North Hills. He was a devoted counselor for families in crisis and to clients suffering from drug and alcohol abuse until his retirement. Jonathan was such a spiritual man that he became invested in being a spiritual leader for those in hospice care and bereavement programs.

Jonathan loved the start into summer where he could enjoy the outdoors for hours. He enjoyed the sound and feel of the water, the beauty of the countryside, watching the yard as it came into bloom. He enjoyed fishing, bird/butterfly watching, family and group gatherings, and a good old-fashioned hamburger off the grill. Jonathan will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Cheri Deener Kohan, whom he married Feb. 16, 2002; his lifelong friends, Pam Adamski and Tom Miller; his sisters-in-law, Teri Braund, Becky McElhinny and Marcy (Doug) Evans; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna Jean.

KOHAN — Friends of Jonathan Kohan, 75, of Evans City, who died Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, will be received for visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday at the Saint George Greek Orthodox Chapel, 8941 Ringeisen Road, Allison Park, with Father John Touloumes officiating.

Jonathan will be laid to rest at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jonathan’s honor to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 985 Providence Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
