FAIRVIEW TWP — A single-vehicle crash just after 9 a.m. Friday, jan. 27, saw Route 68 temporarily reduced to one lane just east of the Kepple’s Corner neighborhood.

Tom Wells, ladder captain at Chicora Volunteer Fire Department, said a woman was the only occupant of the silver SUV.

Wells said she was traveling west on Route 68 when she apparently lost control on a bend, spun out, and came to rest just inside a wooded area.

While dispatchers initially reported the woman was injured, she refused treatment by Karns City Regional Ambulance Service personnel, who responded to the crash as well.

A tow truck pulled the vehicle from the woods, and the road was reopened by 10:15 a.m.
