Dennis Youshock
Dennis S. Youshock, 72, of Slippery Rock, passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan. 10, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Known to his family and friends as “Denny,” he was born on April 11, 1950, in Grove City, to Steve J. and Mary A. (Halahurich) Youshock.
Denny married Joyce A. Shaner on June 12, 1971.
He retired as a supervisor from Peoples Natural Gas (Dominion Gas) in January of 2006, where he was employed for 34½ years. He previously worked for Armco Steel in Butler.
Denny was a 1968 graduate of Slippery Rock High School.
He was a member of North Liberty Presbyterian Church, F&AM Lodge 603 in Grove City, and New Castle Consistory.
Throughout his life, Denny had a great appreciation for horses. He was a member of the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association since 1983. He owned, trained and drove harness horses. Denny also was a member of Harness Horsemen’s Association and the United States Trotting Association.
During his youth, he competed in barrel racing events with 4-H.
Denny loved his family and being with them.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce at home; three daughters, Michelle Barger and significant other, Ken Gottschalk, of Mars, Brenda Fedokovitz and husband, Terry, of Slippery Rock, and Stephanie Gramc and husband, Matt, of Wexford; and four grandchildren, Taylor (Jacob) Young, Alexis Barger, and Steven and Dylan Fedokovitz.
His parents preceded him in death.
YOUSHOCK — Visitation hours for Dennis S. Youshock, who died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville.
