Rev. Deborah Crusan
Rev. Deborah Lynn Crusan, 67, of Prospect, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born Oct, 21, 1955, in Butler; she was the daughter of the late Robert and Pauline Critchlow McKinnis.
For over 40 years she has served as an ordained Presbyterian minister for many churches in the tri-state area. Most recently, she was pastor at the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church.
Rev. Deb supported many religious endeavors such as youth groups, missionaries and family counseling. She also supported many local organizations including the New Castle City Rescue Missions, local food banks and animal shelters.
Deb loved genealogy, researching and discussing her family history, her pets, sitting on her back porch, sewing and “Grammy’s Adventures” for vacation fun.
She is survived by her children, Shawn Crusan of Butler, Caitlyn Heckathorn of Prospect and Troy (Chris) Crusan of New Castle; her two grandchildren, Hunter Heckathorn and Rylee Heckathorn; two aunts, Eleanor Magill of Butler and Barb (Lou) Yaklich of Prospect; many cousins; and her close cousins, John and Judy Osborne of Prospect.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas “Mole” McKinnis; stepmother, Alice Musser McKinnis; three uncles, Floyd McKinnis, Henry Magill and John Abbey; and her cousin, Richard McKinnis.
CRUSAN — Visitation for Rev. Deborah Lynn Crusan, who died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at the RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect.
Visitation also will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Wednesday in the Raisley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Tom Harmon, Executive Presbyter of the Beaver-Butler Presbytery, officiating.
Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.
