Leigh Dillaman
Leigh (Wanda) Dillaman, 73, formerly of Butler, went home to Heaven on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023. She passed peacefully at her home in Tobyhanna, Pa., following a prolonged battle with lung disease.
Leigh was born in Butler on Dec. 26, 1949, to John and Bernice Gall.
Leigh graduated from Butler High School, and later in life would go on to receive degrees from both Butler County Community College and Geneva College.
Leigh spent many years as a trainer for the Alzheimer’s Association before finding her true passion as a professional tutor at Butler County Community College. Although she could tutor multiple subjects, she was able to focus on English, where she specialized in students with special needs and those for whom English was not their first language.
Leigh loved the Lord and her church, Graceway Community Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than a decade.
Leigh was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bernice; her granddaughter Jessica; her grandson, Matthew; and her husband.
Her memory lives on in her sister, Joyce Zmuda (Edward); her daughter, Wendy Meals; her sons, Tom Dillon (Amber) and Lee Dillon (Joy); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
DILLAMAN — A memorial service for Leigh (Wanda) Dillaman, who died Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, will be held in Butler and will be planned for a later date.
