Jim Callihan

Callihan

Jim Callihan, 79, formerly from Chicora, passed away Dec. 19, 2022, in Centreville, Va., after a long battle with leukemia.

Jim graduated from Karns City High School and attended Clarion State.

He entered the IT field in its infancy and continued in that line of work until he retired at age 70.

He was an avid reader, especially of the Civil War and World War II, and found his ancestry to be of interest. Several trips were made with his two sons to France and Ireland, where they toured battlegrounds and ancestral sites.

Jim was a very devout, honest and humble man. He had a tremendous sense of humor and was loved by all. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave him the greatest pleasure.

Surviving are his wife and high school sweetheart, Linda Sigworth Callihan; his sons, Chris (Donna) of Charlotte, N.C., and Mark (Shari) of Ashburn, Va.; his grandchildren, Matthew, Victoria (Tori) and Robert; his great- grandchildren, Fallon, Porter and Emily; and his siblings, Sis Wiles, Kathy Edwards, Fred, Tom and Dan.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred (Williams) and Oscar Callihan; and his siblings, Bill Callihan, Shirley Heitlinger and Pat Liberto.

CALLIHAN — A celebration Mass for Jim Callihan, who died Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, will be held at a later date at St. John Neumann in Reston, Va.

If desired, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
