Harold Glenn “Red” Allison, 86, of Slippery Rock, West Liberty Borough, passed away at Butler Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023.

He was born on June 13, 1936, in Slippery Rock Township, to Floyd Andrew Allison and Clara Minerva Pisor Allison.

He married Jennie Lee Stewart on May 25, 1956.

Red was a steamfitter and a member of Locals 356 and 47, and worked for Renick Brothers in Slippery Rock.

He attended West Liberty United Methodist Church.

He was a member of both Masonic Lodge F&AM 603 of Grove City, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of New Castle.

Red enjoyed horses, farming, fishing, trapshooting and hunting. He enjoyed coaching Little League in earlier years and many former players still talk about how much he influenced them. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie at home; two sons, H. Scott (Debbie) Allison and William Glenn (Jean) Allison, all of Slippery Rock, West Liberty Borough; his sister, Verna Allen of Slippery Rock; his grandchildren, Amber, Corey, Coral, Greg, Will, Walker and Lucas; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Allison; five brothers, Harry, Clyde, Lee, Dale and Vaughn; two sisters, Eleanor Brandon and Doris Dull; and three grandchildren, infant twins Eric and Matthew, and granddaughter Nichole.

ALLISON — There will be no public visitation or service for Harold Glenn “Red” Allison, who died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023.

Interment will be in West Liberty Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Slippery Rock.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Slippery Rock Fire and Rescue Squad, 162 Elm St., Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
