Donna L. (Mission) Jewart, 88, of Chicora, passed away on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

Born Feb. 3, 1934, in Cabot, she was the daughter of the late Jules Mission and Lillian (Bowers) Mission Redick.

Donna was a graduate of Butler High School.

She was a member of North Butler Presbyterian Church.

Donna was a passionate reader and loved her books. She also enjoyed fishing and camping. One of Donna’s favorite pastimes was sitting on her porch with her husband and watching the beautiful sunsets.

Donna is survived by her husband, Donald “Don” Jewart, whom she married on May 19, 1956; two sons, Lonny Jewart of Chicora, and Lee Jewart of Fenelton; her daughter, Leasa (Ben) Covert of Chicora; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Danny (Connie) Redick of Butler; her sister, Dottie (Robert) Gault of Rincon, Ga.; two daughters-in-law, Debbie Jewart of East Brady, and Kelly Jewart of Naples, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by two sons, Larry and Lane Jewart; one brother; four sisters; and one grandson.

JEWART — All are invited to attend a visitation for Donna L. (Mission) Jewart, who died Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, to be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mary Kitchen officiating.

Burial will be at North Butler Cemetery.
