Golfers can help fund warming center

Glade Run Lutheran Services in Zelienople will hold a golf tournament next week to benefit their warming center at 123 E. Diamond St. in Butler.

A news release from Glade Run said the Glade Run Fall Classic will be the first golf tournament fundraiser in 170 years.

Registration for the tournament starts at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at Conley Resort and Golf in Penn Township.

A shotgun start will follow at 9:30 a.m.

Glade Run’s Winter Warming Center will open in October to provide overnight housing and support for individuals experiencing homelessness.

The center is open from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., seven nights per week.

Those using the warming center must obtain a voucher through Catholic Charities during regular business hours or Center for Community Resources after hours, weekends and holidays.

More information and registration for the tournament is available at gladerunfallclassic.org.
