Helen Tomko Scott Ostrander, 84, of Boyers, passed away at home under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice beside her loving daughter and son-in-law on Dec. 27, 2022.

She was born Sept. 30, 1938, in Homestead, and was the daughter of the late Marie Tomko.

Helen graduated from Butler High School in 1958.

She worked for Walmart and Eckerd Drug.

She enjoyed playing bingo, gambling, and loved cats, especially, Charlie. Helen was a member of a bowling league.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” (Barry) Carson of Boyers, and Christina Goines of Grove City; three grandchildren, Farrah Spinetti of Butler, Denny Peterman and Kristy Peterman; eight great-grandchildren including Adam Broadie of Butler, Laithan Spinetti and Anthony Spinetti; one great-great-grandchild; and one niece, Terri (Dave) Pallone of Sarver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Scott; her second husband, Walter Ostrander; one grandson, Johnny Spinetti; one brother, Jack Tomko; and two sisters, Verna Mae Sanders and Theresa Guthrie.

OSTRANDER — Friends of Helen Tomko Scott Ostrander, who died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler, with a funeral service to follow immediately at 7 p.m. with Pastor Chris White officiating.

Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
