Avanell Della Santa

Della Santa

Avanell M. Della Santa, 94, of East Butler, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, while under the care of Concordia of Wexford.

Born Jan. 16, 1928, in Winfield Township, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ellen (Nobel) Wright.

Avanell enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting and knitting, as well as canning and baking. In fact, it was said that she made the “best” apple pies. Avanell was always a kid at heart, had a great laugh and liked to play any game.

She was very fond of her church, First United Methodist Church in Butler, where she was a lifelong member.

Above all else, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and getting to spend time with them.

Avanell is survived by her three daughters, Lisa (Vincent) Johns of Allison Park, Mary Anne (James) McBride of Stratford, N.J., and Joyce Della Santa of Butler; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Avanell was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Della Santa; two brothers; and one sister.
