John Stauffer

John B. "Jack" Stauffer, 100, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at the Lowrie House.

He was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Butler, the son to the late John A. Stauffer and the late Alene Bovard Stauffer.

Jack made his living as an interior painter and wallpaper hanger. He has worked in many of the homes in Butler. Jack was a lifetime member at Meridian Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Patricia A. Skornicka, and her husband, Al, of Canfield, Ohio; and one son, Thomas A. Stauffer, and his wife, Callista, of Akron, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen M. Stauffer, whom he married on Aug. 30, 1946, and who passed away Aug. 21, 2019, after 73 years of marriage; and his oldest son, John H. Stauffer, who was a Marine veteran serving in Vietnam. He passed away in September 2021.

STAUFFER — As per his wishes, there will be no public visitation for John B. "Jack" Stauffer, who died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022.

A private funeral service was held at the convenience of the family.

The burial was held at Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., Butler, PA 16001.
