Bowman

James P. Bowman, 55, of East Huntingdon Township, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, Dec. 13, 2022, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 5, 1967, in Zelienople, and was the son of the late Arthur B. and Ethel Marie Croft Bowman.

Jim was a graduate of Quigley High School in Baden. He attended Butler County Community College and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University. He received his master’s degree in information technology from Robert Morris University.

He was employed at Vector Security for five years as director of IT infrastructure, and was previously employed by Matthews International for 11 years.

In his spare time, Jim enjoyed hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He was known for his awesome apple pies at Thanksgiving.

He was a loving companion, father and brother to his family. He was known as a hard worker, and will be sadly missed by his employees and co-workers.

Jim is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, his loving children, Emily Rose Bowman and Andi Harbold of Meadville, and Andrew J. Bowman of Mount Pleasant, and their mother, Marsha Miller of West Mifflin; his partner, Penny Richter of Lower Burrell; his siblings, Ethel Marie Bowman-Kerlick of Herminie, Arthur Bowman and his wife, Linda, of West Sunbury, John Bowman and Judy of Jeannette, Minnetta Bowman of Butler, and Terry Bowman and his wife, Tammy, of Zelienople; a number of nieces and nephews; his kitty cat, Mabel; and his “brother,” Richard Schoedel.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by Matthew Bowman, who passed away in 1996, and George Bowman, who passed away in 1986.
