Marak

Jack (John) Marak, 88, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, while under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 6, 1934, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John Marak Jr., and Angela Anna Weidor Marak.

Jack proudly served in the U.S. Navy for eight years, including during the Korean War.

He was a graduate of North Catholic High School.

He worked for J.R.’s Plumbing and Heating in Zelienople, and Pegasus Investigations.

He was a member of the Butler American Legion for over 40 years, the Blue Knights Motorcycle Group of Pittsburgh (PA Chapter 21) since 1995, and was president of the Butler Constable Association.

Jack leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years, Darlene (Wills) Marak, whom he married on July 9, 1964; his daughter, Darcie Marak of Butler; his siblings, Ron Marak of Butler, Carol Ann Zaborowski of Avonmore, and Mary Grace Chandler of Virginia; his sister-in-law, Ginny Marak of Fombell; and his two “boys,” Casey and Otis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Marak.

MARAK — Friends of Jack (John) Marak, who died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church — All Saints Parish, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler.

A celebration of life luncheon will be held at noon at the church.

He will be laid to rest with military honors at Greenlawn Burial Estates and Mausoleum in Butler.

Jack would like to thank his palliative care nurses, especially Travis, for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.
