William “Bill” Lester Kerr Sr., 78, of Slippery Rock, passed away at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022.

Bill was born in Volant on Dec. 29, 1943, to William Edward Kerr and Bertha Blanche Christy Kerr.

He married Jean McCandless on Nov. 4, 1964.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Bill was of the Protestant faith.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and anything outdoors.

Survivors include his daughters, Betsy L. Welsh (Craig) of Slippery Rock, and Tammy S. Brown of Jackson Center; his son, William L. Kerr Jr. (Gloria) of Mercer; his daughter, Linda J. Perry (Nick) of Grove City; his sister, Gail M. Kerr of Slippery Rock; and numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean Kerr; his son, Joseph E. Kerr; his brother, Terry L. Kerry; and his sister, Mary M. Sibble.

KERR — The family of William “Bill” Lester Kerr Sr., who died Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Saturday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Mr. Rod Burk presiding.

Interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
