Perhaps the most important task of the holiday season for children is getting their wishes across to Santa Claus. Luckily, there are a few opportunities for them to do so this season in Butler County.

The Clearview Mall is set to host families for pictures with Santa as usual this year, with available days lasting until Dec. 23. For a full list of days and hours, visit shopclearviewmall.com/deals/santas-2022.

The second annual Santa at Preston Park, 415 S. Eberhart Road, Meridian, will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 10. Children and their families will have the chance to get free photos with Santa Claus, and Center for Community Resources will provide free hot chocolate to everyone who attends.

Organizers ask that attendees please consider bringing a pair of new socks, as Leadership Butler County will collect socks in partnership with Inspired Hearts and Hands for youth in our community.

Glade Run Lutheran Services is hosting a showing of the holiday classic “The Polar Express” on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Grace Lutheran Church in Butler. The showing begins at 2 p.m. Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas, and all guests will enjoy complimentary refreshments while they visit with Santa Claus.

While admission is free, a donation of a gift card or toy for a Glade Run child or family in need is appreciated. Reserve seats by calling Cheryl Martin at 724-452-4453, ext. 1277.

Tractor Supply Company will spread Christmas cheer this year with their Photos with Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., 148 Alameda Plaza. Tractor Supply customers are invited to bring their children and pets to the store for photos with Santa and other Christmas activities. A local photographer will take Christmas photos of Santa's Little Helpers and their owners. The first 25 customers to take their photo with Santa will also receive a free magnetic picture frame.

For information, call the Butler Tractor Supply at 724-287-0050.

There’s also an opportunity to eat breakfast with Santa from 7 to 11 a.m. Dec. 17 at Callery’s Volunteer Fire Department, 179 Main Street in Callery. The event will feature all-you-can-eat pancakes with a side of sausage.

Visitors can purchase tickets at the door for $5 per person for pancakes alone and $7 for a side order of sausage. Children under 10 can eat for free.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Callery’s Volunteer Fire Company.

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland at Cooper’s Lake Campground, 205 Currie Road, Slippery Rock, also features Santa’s Village, which is open nightly from 6 to 10 p.m. Operated by Rodgers Vending, admission to the village is free with admission to the light show.

Children can visit with Santa through Dec. 23. There is also a station for writing letters to Santa and a mailbox with a direct line to the North Pole to really make sure the elves get the order. For all other inquiries regarding Santa’s Village, call 724-968-8472.

St. Nick is also making some stops in Cranberry, particularly for your pets. Residents can bring their pets to the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, for a photo with Santa from 2 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 18.
