Live Nativity scenes planned
The following live Nativity scenes are among those planned for the Butler County area this December:
Concordia Lutheran Ministries will host its annual Live Nativity at 4:30, 5:15 and 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, outside in front of the Concordia at Cabot Haven II building, 148 Marwood Road. Parking will be available at Entrance 6 on Marwood Road.
The event is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to dress warmly.
Guests can enjoy cookies, hot chocolate and Christmas music between performances. Children age 12 or under will receive a free gift, and children of all ages will have a chance to visit Santa.
The scene will be livestreamed on YouTube beginning 3:45 p.m. on the Concordia Lutheran Ministries YouTube page.

The Presbyterian Church of Portersville will host a living Nativity on Dec. 10 and 11 at the church, 1297 Perry Highway, Portersville.
The event, set from 6 to 8 p.m., features the outdoor Nativity and an indoor Christmas Fair with cookies, hot and cold drinks, face-painting, cookie decorating and videos of children’s Christmas classics.
Also planned is breakfast for dinner on Dec. 10 and a spaghetti dinner on Dec. 11.
The Nixon United Methodist Church will host its annual live Nativity from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the church, 334 Airport Road.
The congregation also plans a Blue Christmas service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21. The service is intended for people struggling with loss and grief.
The annual outdoor live Nativity scene will feature four 15-minute performances from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Bradford Woods Community Church’s baseball fields, 4836 Wexford Run Road, Bradford Woods.
The Nativity will include live animals. Each performance will last about 15 minutes.
The event is free and open to the public. Drinks and cookies will be available in the lower parking lot.
