Carl H. Vinroe III, 72, of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born Dec. 13, 1949, in Butler County, he was the son of the late Carl H. Vinroe Jr. and the late Margaret Ann (Heaton) Vinroe.

Carl married the love of his life, Kay Susan Hutchison, on Sept. 14, 1973. They had enjoyed nearly 47 years together until her passing on Sept. 2, 2020.

Susie and Vinny loved to feed the wildlife at their home and enjoyed being with family. Carl always remembered to send birthday cards with a monetary gift, especially to the younger ones.

Carl was a member of Rider Lutheran Church.

Carl graduated from Slippery Rock State College.

After 30 years of honorable public service, Carl retired from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management Federal Investigative Services, in 2007.

He was an avid bowler and golfer. Carl was recognized by the United States Bowling Congress for 25 years of participation in USBC national tournaments in 2010. In 1994, Carl had a perfect 300 game included in an 802 series. He was inducted into the Butler County Bowlers Association Hall of Fame on Feb. 21, 2015. Carl was also a member of the Sunset Golf League for many years.

Carl enjoyed lottery scratchers, gambling and traveling to bowling tournaments and Las Vegas. He enjoyed watching professional sports, especially the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates and the PGA. He was a gentleman and a good friend, who would do anything for someone in need.

Carl is survived by two brothers, Robert R. Vinroe and Richard B. Vinroe (Joyce).

He is also survived by numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews from both sides of the family; as well as his only cousin, Leanne Heaton.

He was preceded in death by his older brother, Brad, who passed away in January 2022.

VINROE — Friends and family of Carl H. Vinroe III, who died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, are invited to a visitation from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A funeral will immediately follow visitation at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Joel Benson officiating.

A private interment will be held at Rider Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BCHS; or Rider Cemetery, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, PA 16061.
