Leonard B. Hancher

Leonard B. Hancher, 62, of Butler, formerly of Washington, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, in his home.

He was born May 23, 1960, in Washington, Pa., and was the son of the late Kilbourn O. Hancher Jr. and Marjorie Riggs Hancher.

He was a 1978 graduate of Washington High School.

He worked for Sysco Food Services as a truck driver for over 36 years.

He enjoyed mowing grass, chopping wood, weight lifting, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, loved going to the beach, and his cats, JJ and Cheeto.

On July 12, 1980, he married Shelane (McCombs) Hancher, with whom he had shared over 42 years of marriage.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his son, Ryan and his wife, Lisa Hancher, of Sanford, N.C.; two brothers, Rodney and his wife, Diane Hancher, of Bethel Park, and Kibby and his wife, Jamie Hancher, of Georgia; and a grandson, Liam Hancher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Ward.

HANCHER — Family and friends of Leonard B. Hancher, who died Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at NICHOL FUNERAL HOME, 1873 E. Maiden St., Washington, Pa.
