Lawrence Sloan
Lawrence “Bud” Elmer Sloan, 94, of Whitestown, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, following an illness.
Born Feb. 23, 1928; he was the son of the late Harold and Clara Shiever Sloan.
He was a member of the Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church in Whitestown.
Bud was a U.S. Army veteran, who honorably served his country from 1950 to 1952.
In the early 1990s, he retired from the former Halstead Mitchell in Zelienople where he was a truck driver, mechanic and the garage dispatcher.
He enjoyed gardening and was a NASCAR fan and a collector of anything related to Ford trucks.
He is survived by his special companion, Beth Ann Fisher; sisters, Ruth Spack of Butler, Mabel Giles of Meadville and Jean (Ernie) Oesterling of Butler; many nieces and nephews; and his furry friends, Marty and Cookie Dough.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Peg Fassinger, Beryl Bloom Gilliland, Ethel Kradel, Clyde Sloan, Harold Sloan, Robert Sloan and Ralph Sloan.
SLOAN — Visitation for Lawrence “Bud” Elmer Sloan, who died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect.
Funeral service will follow the viewing at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with his pastor, the Rev. Jason Sinagra, officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Whitestown.
