Harold Kennedy
Harold Francis Kennedy, 85, of Valencia, passed away on Friday morning, Nov. 25, 2022, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township, after enduring a stroke.
Harold was born in Adams Township on Nov. 21, 1937. He was the son of the late Honorable H. Francis and Martha Everett Kennedy. He was also preceded in death by his son, H. Robert Kennedy; and step-son, Marshall Adam Cranmer.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Judy Cranmer Kennedy; his daughters, Diane (Craig) Edwards and Holly (Tim) McKenna; his son, Dale (Renee) Kennedy; step-son, Matt (Heather) Cranmer; step-daughter, Marcy (Tiffany) Cranmer; his sister, Nancy Govan; his brothers, James L. (Rita) Kennedy and H. Phillip Kennedy Sr.; as well as his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Harold was a respected pillar of our community. He was a lifelong farmer and dedicated and skilled employee of North Pittsburgh Telephone Company for many years. Harold served as a Deputy for the Pennsylvania Game Commission and was instrumental in providing hunter safety instruction to many of our local youth.
Harold had been in the Masonic Orders since 1966 and belonged to the John E. Mair Lodge 729 F. & A.M. He had been an Adams Township Supervisor, was Treasurer of the Breakneck Creek Regional Authority, and served on the board of directors of the Adams Township Water Authority. He held many positions, including director of the Butler Fair. He was a longtime supporter of 4-H Youth, and was active in the Butler Farm Show livestock sale. Harold raised shorthorn cattle and show calves and belonged to the American Shorthorn Association. He was also a lifelong member of Mars United Presbyterian Church.
Harold’s passions included hunting, farming, spending time with his family and friends,and sitting on his back deck with his dogs, watching the deer roam in his fields below.
KENNEDY — Friends of Harold Francis Kennedy, who died Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, will be received from noon to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
A memorial service will follow at 8 p.m. at the Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, with the Rev. Brian Hauser officiating.
