Kotch

Mary Ann Kotch, 86, of Renfrew, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 19, 1936, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Michael and Martha Richards Budzyn.

Mary was the beloved wife of Richard W. Kotch. They were married at St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church in Wilkes-Barre, and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary a little over a week ago on Nov. 16, 2022.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Mary also bowled in the Sunshine Bowling League. She golfed in the Stoughton Golf League, and she was a dedicated volunteer at the Cherry Tree Gift Shoppe at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She especially enjoyed attending her grandsons’ numerous sporting events and her granddaughter’s many dance recitals over the years. A most special time was the arrival of her first great-granddaughter this past year.

Mary loved to play cards — particularly 500 — and going out to lunch. One of her favorite amusements was trying her luck with scratch-off lottery tickets. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and she enjoyed watching TV, especially Fox News, “The Bachelor,” “The Price Is Right,” “Let’s Make A Deal” and “Wheel of Fortune.”

Mary was the devoted and loving mother of four children, Ann Marie Snodgrass and her husband, Roger, of Butler, Lisa Ames of Tampa, Fla., Richard W. Kotch Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Butler, and Robert Kotch of Butler; five grandchildren, Austin Snodgrass and his fiancée, Jen Bahm, Nate Snodgrass and his wife, Kimberly, Heather Sydnor and her husband, Zach, Tyler Kotch, and Tanner Kotch; and one great-granddaughter, Addison Marie Sydnor.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
