Butler Twp passes preliminary budget
BUTLER TWP — Butler Township residents will not see a tax increase next year, according to the preliminary budget approved at Monday night’s meeting.
Township commissioners voted unanimously to approve the $9.4 million budget for 2023, with biggest expenditures including winter maintenance, roads and equipment.
The amount is a $1.4 million increase from last year’s budget, according to township manager Tom Knights.
The municipality’s millage rate will remain at 11.25.
Commissioner Sam Zurzolo applauded the work of his fellow commissioners on the budget.
“We try to maintain our township as a first-class township,” he said.
The commissioners are expected to finalize the budget at a December meeting.
