Edward Cress

Cress

Edward A. Cress, 87, of Zelienople, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, while under the care of AHN Wexford Hospital.

Born Jan. 30, 1935, in Baden, he was the son of the late Charles Cress and Blanche Hemmerle Cress.

Ed started his own business, Ed Cress Builder, in 1976, and was proud to have built many custom homes in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.

He was one of the founders of Park Trail Lodge, established in 1959, in Cameron County. He was thrilled that the camp and hunting traditions continue with his children and grandchildren.

Ed was a lifelong member of Franklin Park Baptist Church.

Above all else, he was an honorable, hardworking, dedicated family man, who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 62 years, Dorothy McEvoy Cress; his children, Ron Cress (Anne) and Sandra McGinnis (Eddie); his grandchildren, Ryan McGinnis (Tori), Maureen Cress Schneider (Matt), Colin McGinnis (Cory), Cameron Cress (Hannah) and Shane Cress (Meghan); his great-grandchildren, Easton, Parker, Landon and Theodore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by five siblings.
