Joseph McKinney

McKinney

Joseph C. McKinney, 69, of Saxonburg, formerly of Valencia, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Nov. 17, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 8, 1953, he was the son of the late Charles Clyde and Naomi Elizabeth Chritchley McKinney.

Joe worked in sales in the steel industry for years, ending his career with Paul Wurth International, and was active in many steel industry associations.

An avid golfer, he belonged to many golf clubs and participated in many charity events. He was a social member of Mars VFW Post 7505, and had been active with Mars Area Recreational Sports.

Joe was a member of Clinton Presbyterian Church in Saxonburg.

He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn R. “Bunny” Weibel McKinney, whom he married on Jan. 9, 1976; a daughter, Candace “Candy” Preteroti (Gregg) of Saxonburg; a son, Joseph Charles “Jo-Joe” McKinney Jr. (Stephanie) of Waterford, Pa.; his grandchildren, Stone “Spudz” Preteroti and Aspen “Punkin” McKinney; and a sister, Donna McKinney Flowers of Saxonburg.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce W. McKinney and Charles “Buddy” McKinney.

MCKINNEY — Friends of Joseph C. McKinney, who died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.

Memorials may be made to the Clinton Presbyterian Church, 197 Glade Mill Road, Saxonburg, PA 16056.
