Hazel Warheit

Hazel Marie Warheit, 87, of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born June 5, 1935, in Cabot, and was the daughter of the late Lynn Geist and the late Alberta Voland Geist.

Hazel worked as a day worker and housekeeper for various residents and businesses in the Butler area.

She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hazel was a member of First English Lutheran Church.

She is survived one daughter, Suzanne Hulton and her companion, Tim Niggel, of Slippery Rock; two sons, Richard Warheit and his wife, Sue, of Butler, and Eric Warheit and his wife, Christine, of Butler; four grandchildren, Dhyana Keefer, Elizabeth Uhlig and her husband, Josh, David Keefer and his companion, Leah Semler, and Brian Warheit and his wife, Katie; three great-grandchildren, Khloe Keefer, Brooke Warheit and Connor Warheit; one brother, George Geist and his wife, Margie, of Cabot; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Carl Warheit, whom she married on Aug. 24, 1957, and who passed away of March 30, 1968; one daughter, Dianne Keefer; two sisters; one brother; and one son-in-law, William M. Hulton Jr.

WARHEIT — Friends of Hazel Marie Warheit, who died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, will be received from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A funeral service will follow immediately at 4 p.m. with Pastor Kimberly van Driel officiating.

Private burial will take place in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First English Lutheran Church, 241 North Main Street, Butler, PA 16001.
