12 grams of crack found in city; 1 man in custody
A Butler man faces felony drug charges after city police found more than 12 grams of crack cocaine on his person Tuesday night.
Following the execution of a search warrant, David C. Bemben, 42, is being held in Butler County Prison in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
Bemben was additionally charged with three misdemeanors related to use and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to documents filed by Butler County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, police executed a search warrant at Bemben’s residence around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. Police said that upon entering the apartment, they found Bemben crawling out of a bedroom window. Police took him into custody and allegedly found 12.65 grams of crack cocaine and $1,244 in cash on his person.
Throughout the residence, police found four digital scales coated with white residue, an iPhone, three full stamp bags of suspected heroin or fentanyl, four boxes of baking soda and clear sandwich bags.
According to charging documents, Bemben also has outstanding bench warrants totaling $50,000 for failing to appear in court.
