Donald M. Anthony, 58, of Sarver, passed away on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, while surrounded by his family and friends at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Donnie was born in Natrona Heights on May 22, 1964, and was a son of the late Laura (Hughes) and Merle D. Anthony.

He was a 1983 graduate of Freeport Area High School.

After graduation, Donnie began his career as a heavy truck mechanic with Brunner Trucking. He then went to work for Don Martin/David Bauman Trucking. He retired in 2010.

Donnie loved dirt track racing. He could be found at Lernerville Speedway every Friday night. He spent many years as the team leader of the 3D Racing Team.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 15 years, Charlotte A. (Bland) Anthony; his brother-in-law, George Bland Jr.; his sister and brother-in-law, Lucile and Ralph Jones; his brother-in-law, William Houtz, Sr.; numerous nieces and nephews; lots of wonderful friends; plus his cats, who always provided comfort when he wasn’t feeling well.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Merlene Houtz and Donna Rae Anthony.

ANTHONY — Family and friends of Donald M. Anthony, who died Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport.

A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Seth McClymonds Jr. of Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver officiating.
