Robert Lauric
Robert James Lauric, 82, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022, at Harmony at Harts Run in Fox Chapel. He died in his sleep of natural causes and went to be with Jesus Christ in peace.
Born Sept. 26, 1940, in Pittsburgh, he was a loving husband to his late wife, Joyce Lauric, whom he married on Aug. 1, 1988.
Bob will be remembered as a hardworking, driven man with a sense of humor that could light up any room. He was raw and straightforward, but had a tender heart filled with compassion. His wisdom was shed on any life issue that his children faced from business decisions to plumbing problems. He was as sharp as a tack, and brought his life experiences to help navigate through hard decisions. He loved his grandchildren and knew where they were at all times. Despite being mostly blind in his later years, he was determined to be independent and do things for himself.
He was a faithful member of Local 27 Plumbers Union for 53 years. He started his career in August 1969 as an apprentice, and he retired from Ruthrauff on Oct. 1, 1999, as a foreman.
He was known for his keen sense to predict the weather; he was the captain of the boat and the boss of the hunting camp. He knew the most important things in life were working hard, taking time for your hobbies and spending time with family. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating on Lake Erie, and spending his winters in Florida.
Surviving are his beloved children his daughter, Laura Srocki, and her husband, Walt, of Pittsburgh, and their children, Veronica, Kenny, Sydney, Harrison, Tessa, Sarah and Mia, and late son, Sean Weir; his daughter, Cherie River, of Pittsburgh, and her children, Victor, Sophie and Rosie; and his son, Bobby Lauric, and his wife, Jen, of Camp Hill, Pa., and their children, Ethan Zoe, Kolton, Jasmine, Lyric and Priscilla.
He leaves behind his friend, Nancy, who graciously befriended him and helped with his care while he resided in Florida for the winter.
His late siblings were Lois, Charlie and Joe Lauric.
He also was preceded in death by his parents. He was the son of the late Joe and Mary Lauric.
