Betty McQueeney
Betty Elizabeth McQueeney, 99, of Chicora, died Nov. 6, 2022, at the Chicora Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 3, 1923, in Hilliards, and was the daughter of the late William Nellis and the late Mary (Ekis) Nellis.
She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 50 years. She enjoyed sharing many Bible scriptures with others as well as her favorite, Psalm 83:18.
She was married to Harry Paul Jordan Sr. until he died. Later she married Gene McQueeney.
She is survived by seven of her nine children, Harry Jordan Jr. and his wife, Grace, Emily Porter, Patricia Hughes, Gail Everetts, Lucy Croyle, Clifford and wife, Joyce Jordan, and Tom Jordan.
Also surviving are a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, William and Mary Nellis, and her husbands, Harry Paul Jordan and Gene McQueeney, she was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters; her son, Ernest; and a daughter, Mary Toth.
MCQUEENEY — Friends of Betty Elizabeth McQueeney, who died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022, will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora, where funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Daniel Harrington from the Butler Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating.
Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Cemetery in Chicora.
