Whallin

Cindy Lou Whallin, 65, of Portersville, passed away at home on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022.

She was born on June 8, 1957, in Grove City, and grew up in Butler. She was the daughter of James Kreutz and Carol Vinroe, and her adoptive parents, David and Doris Vanetta.

She graduated from Butler High School in 1975.

Cindy enjoyed life.

She was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of Trinity Presbyterian.

She enjoyed baking and cooking. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Tarrah (Ron Jr.) Kapsin of Renfrew; two sons, Justin Whallin of Portersville and Nick (Carlie) Whallin of Rose Point, Pa.; four grandchildren, Evan, Austin, Alana and Wyatt; and several brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by David and Doris Vanetta.

WHALLIN — The family of Cindy Lou Whallin, who died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, will receive family and friends from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Wednesday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Molnar presiding.
