Weitzel

Monte Clark Weitzel, 80, of Zelienople, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, in the comfort of his home.

Born March 29, 1942, in Butler, he was the son of the late Clark Walter Weitzel and Martha Mary Vinroe Weitzel.

He graduated from Butler High School.

Monte proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1967.

Monte was a faithful member of Grace Church of Harmony, and was involved in various church projects and committees.

He was employed as a technician with Armstrong in Zelienople.

An avid outdoorsman, Monte enjoyed hunting. He enjoyed the children that he and his wife babysat, and he loved spoiling his grandchildren.

Monte will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 59 years, Sandy Lee Dobson Weitzel, whom he married Aug. 7, 1963; his three children, Brian Weitzel of Zelienople, Kathy Weitzel of Hilliard, Ohio, and Jenna (William) Rape of Zelienople; his four grandchildren; his brother, Arnold (Betty) Weitzel of Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Monte was preceded in death by his son, Kurt Weitzel; and his sister, Janet Terwilliger.

WEITZEL — Friends of Monte Clark Weitzel, who died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Church of Harmony, 538 Main St., Harmony, with the Rev. Peter J. Everett officiating.

Military honors will be conducted at the end of the service.

Monte will be laid to rest at West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
