Deacon to give talk on oil’s history
Deacon Bruce Beaver, a professor of chemistry at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, will give a presentation on the spiritual and historical aspects of fossil fuels in the Petroleum Valley from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church hall, 409 N. Main St., Chicora.
Beaver, a longtime St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church parishioner, was ordained a deacon in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
