Local author to speak at Butler Library
Local author Damian Dressick will be at the Butler Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., at 6 p.m. Nov. 2 for a book talk and signing of his two works of fiction, “40 Patchtown” and “Fables of the Deconstruction.”
He is the vice president of the Writers Association of Northern Appalachia and a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh. He currently lives in Slippery Rock.
“40 Patchtown” covers the Pennsylvania coal miners’ strike of 1922, one of the most brutal labor struggles in American history. “Fables of the Deconstruction” is a collection of flash fiction pieces. Copies of the books will be available for purchase at the event.
