Donald G. “Red” Mellor, 90, of Hampton Township, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022.

Born July 24, 1932, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Gordon and Ann Dorothy (Bunder) Mellor.

He was the beloved husband of Norma (Carpenter) Mellor, until her death on May 31, 2009.

Don served in the U.S. Army in Germany.

He was a technician with AT&T.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing at camp, and golfing. He was always asked to play the piano at family gatherings, particularly, “Boogie Woogie.” He loved being with his grandkids and great-grandkids. Any news of them brought a smile to his face.

He is survived by his children, Karen Shane and her husband, Kenneth, Michael Mellor and his wife, Debbie, Gregory Mellor and his wife, Donna, and Donna Phillips; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one on the way; his sister, Eileen Linder; and lots of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, and his wife, Norma, he was preceded in death by his son, Danny Mellor; and his sisters, Dorothy Ann and Ilona Mary.

MELLOR — The family of Donald G. “Red” Mellor, who died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at KING FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine of Sweden Roman Catholic Church, 2554 Wildwood Road, Allison Park.

He will be laid to rest at Hampton Cemetery in Allison Park.
