Ronald D. Cypher, 68, of Fenelton, passed away after a hard and long fight against esophageal cancer on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

He was born Sept. 15, 1954, in Fenelton, and was the son of the late Luke D. and Ethel (Graham) Cypher.

Ron had just retired on Sept. 29, 2022, from Herman Oil and Gas LLC, where he had been a wellman.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, and was also a member of the RC Men’s Club.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and canning.

Surviving are his wife, Irene (Covert) Cypher of Fenelton; a son, Ronald P. (Erin) Cypher of Saxonburg; his daughter, Jamie (William) Shuler of Cabot; six grandchildren, Cassandra, Levi, Mikayla, Logan, Austin and Keira; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Della Barton of Cabot; a sister-in-law, Patty (Brian) Angert; a nephew, Basil (Trish) Luchkiw of Cabot; and several more nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Luke F. Cypher.

CYPHER — Friends of Ronald D. Cypher, who died Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church, 668 Clearfield Road, Fenelton, with Father Matthew McClain officiating.

Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Church Cemetery.
