Mark Krchnak
Mark P. Krchnak, 92, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Mark was born on April 25, 1930. He was the adopted son of the late Monica (Hrdlicka) Krchnak and Vincent S. Krchnak.
Mark graduated from Butler High School and then joined the U.S. Marine Corps. After his discharge from the Marines, Mark started his career at the Armco Steel plant in November of 1948. Mark worked his entire career in the melt shop, and retired as a general foreman in 1990.
Mark enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and golfing for many years, with both his family and friends.
Mark was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Sara “Sally” E. (Kelly) Krchnak; and also an infant son, Vincent Krchnak.
His family would like to extend a thank you to the nursing staff of Concordia for its excellent care.
He is survived by his three sons, Mark S. and Amy (Maines) Krchnak of Clearfield, Pa., Michael D. and Barb (Fugini) Krchnak of Butler, and Matthew P. and Malinda (Temple) of Butler; seven grandchildren, Kristyn, Matthew, Sara, Lauren, Mark, Marie and Vincent; six great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Kenzie, Sloane, Bode, Blake and Kaia; and one sister, Margaret Karenbauer.
KRCHNAK — Friends of Mark P. Krchnak, who died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Butler.
