Portersville bridge being replaced
The Portersville Bridge on East Portersville Road in Muddy Creek Township will be replaced.
The road will be closed tentatively from Oct. 10 through Nov. 1, weather permitting, so crews can replace the existing structure carrying East Portersville Road over Interstate 79, according to a release from the state Department of Transportation.
The project will install a two-span composite steel multi-girder bridge on the road, and also involves other miscellaneous construction, including drainage, deck repair and utilities, the news release said.
Short-term traffic control with single lanes and flaggers as needed will be in place between State Route 19 and Badger Hill Toad, to build a temporary shoulder along East Portersville Road.
