Weekend road closure planned for Freedom Road
Freedom Road in Cranberry Township will be closed to westbound traffic next weekend between Haine School Road and Commonwealth Drive for paving, drainage and signal work.
The closure will be from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30 to 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. The contractor, Gulisek Construction, LLC of Mt. Pleasant, Pa., will maintain eastbound traffic with signs and flagging as needed.
For the westbound detour, traffic will use Freedom Road east, to Route 19 north, to Rochester Road, to Powell Road, to Freedom Road.
This work is an extension of the Freedom Road project, which included new highway and turning lanes, widening, paving, drainage, signal upgrade/replacement, lighting work, highway realignment, safety improvements and sidewalks.
The $9.8 million project is estimated to be completed in the fall.
