Edwin Randig
Edwin Paul Randig, 90, of Tamaqua, Pa., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, in Bethlehem, Pa.
Born on April 29, 1932, in Butler, he was the son of the late Paul and Pearl (Easley) Randig.
He was a 1950 graduate of Butler High School.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army, and attended Penn State.
He worked as a salesman for Harold Stephens Food Service, then joined his wife, Marlene, in operating Vogue Cleaners in Tamaqua for over 20 years.
A member of St. John’s United Church of Christ of Tamaqua, Paul sang in the church choir.
He was an active member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, Tamaqua/Mahanoy City Lodge, 2338 F&AM. He also held memberships in the Bloomsbury Consistory, RAJAH Temple of Reading and Knights Templar. He was active in the Tamaqua American Legion, Elks Lodge and White Birch Golf League.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Johnson-Randig; his sons, Edwin K. Randig (Alyssa), Alex Kristof and Michele Randall (Will); his stepson, Ricky Johnson (Roseanne); his daughter-in-law, Diane Johnson; his brothers, Joseph Randig (Linda) and Ric Randig (Eileen); his sisters, Mary Ellen Edinger and Martha Simm (Bob); 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Taggart and Jane Connell; and his stepsons, Billy and Bruce Johnson.
RANDIG — Graveside services with military honors for Edwin Paul Randig, who died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by E. FRANKLIN GRIFFITHS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, Tamaqua.
