Peggy and George Dean

George and Peggy Dean of Chicora will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a dinner for the wedding party Sept. 16 at Rachel’s Roadhouse in Butler.

Dean married the former Peggy Moore on Sept. 16, 1972, on the front lawn of the bride’s parents’ home in Portersville.

They have five children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

George retired from Agway and is a self-employed dairy farmer.

He is a 4-H Dairy Club leader and a Butler Farm Show director.

Mrs. Dean retired from the Penn State Extension office in Butler.
