Ruth Peffer

Peffer

Ruth E. Cable Peffer, 92, formerly of Harmony, passed away on Aug. 31, 2022.

She was the daughter of Harvey and Lillian Eichenaur Cable.

Ruth graduated from Zelienople High School in 1945, where she met and fell in love with her husband of 73 years.

She moved to Colorado 39 years ago, after she helped to run Bob Peffer’s Lawn & Garden Shop with her husband for 15 years.

Ruth was a true role model to her five children. She was a hard worker, and delivered mail for Harmony before running the garden shop. She also had worked for a few senior centers after moving to Colorado. She cleaned homes for the elderly, was head cook for daily meals at the center, and started and held a seniors exercise class well into her 80s. She gardened, baked, sewed, knitted and quilted for her entire family, and taught them how to love God.

She will be greatly missed.

Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Robert D. (Bob) Peffer; sons, Wayne (Diana) Peffer of Pennsylvania, and Dennis (Cindy) Peffer; daughters, Kae Peffer, of Colorado, Susan (Dane) Sarver of Pennsylvania and Cindy (Roger) Flugher of Missouri; grandchildren, Wayne Jr., Bobbie, Jeremy, Jennifer Ruth, Rachel, Shari and Crysta; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Sierra, Madison, Makayla, Zachary, Wayne III, Izabella, Ava and Jocelynn, Dean, Justin, Elizabeth, and Lil Ty, and Serenity, Gracie and Madalyn; a brother, Richard (Helen) Cable of Ohio; many nieces and nephews; a special caregiver, Shylo, with many thanks to Canon City Lodge in Colorado, who also loved her.

Ruth will be united in Heaven with her parents; and her brothers, Ralph and Robert L. Cable.

PEFFER — Private arrangements for Ruth E. Cable Peffer, who died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, have been entrusted to HOLT FAMILY FUNERAL HOME in Canon City, Colorado.
