Raymond Fletcher Sawyer, 74, peacefully went to be with the Lord the morning of Sept. 1, 2022. He was greeted at the gates of Heaven by his son, Todd Sawyer; his parents, Raymond and Nancy Sawyer; along with his many dogs, who were surely wagging their tails at the first sight of him.

He leaves behind the love of his life, Barbara, the woman he loved so much he married twice.

He also leaves behind his children, Shannon Sawyer, Samara Sawyer, Cathryn (Luke) Heakins, Lindsy (Juan) Marquez and Raymond (Lindsey) Sawyer. He also is survived by his uncle, Robert Sawyer.

He was the best Papa to all of his grandchildren, who were his greatest joy. He will be forever missed by Ana, Erin, Eli, Blake, Jax, Hazel and Tessa.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Raymond knew he was a jokester, could fix just about everything, and would be the first person to help someone in need.

SAWYER — Arrangements for Raymond Fletcher Sawyer, who died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, were handled by GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

Raymond’s family will celebrate his life privately on the farm he loved so much. If you wish to honor Raymond, plan a good prank for April Fools’ Day, which will never be the same without him.
